Damaged Concrete Repair Project (2024)

Damaged Concrete Repair

Winter weather can wreak havoc on outdoor surfaces, leaving behind unsightly damage that detracts from the beauty and functionality of your property. At Southeast Flooring Solutions, we understand the frustration of dealing with winter-related concrete damage, which is why we're proud to share our recent project where we restored a 45x65-foot concrete pad damaged by salt and winter weather, transforming it into a pristine and durable surface. In this article, we'll delve into the process behind repairing winter-damaged concrete and how our meticulous approach ensures long-lasting results that exceed our customer's expectations.

Understanding the Process

Repairing winter-damaged concrete requires more than just a quick fix. Our process is thorough and meticulously executed to ensure lasting durability and visual appeal. Here's how we tackled the project:

  1. Surface Preparation: The first step is to thoroughly blast the damaged concrete surface to remove any loose debris, contaminants, and deteriorated concrete.

  2. Moisture Vapor Barrier (MVB) Application: Next, we apply a moisture vapor barrier (MVB) at 15-20 mil thickness to prevent moisture from seeping into the concrete and causing further damage.

  3. Full Broadcast: We then apply a full broadcast of specialized materials to reinforce the concrete and provide additional strength and resilience.

  4. Wicked Overlay Application: Our proprietary wicked overlay, applied at 30 mil thickness, is designed to restore the surface and create a durable, long-lasting finish that can withstand harsh weather conditions.

  5. Scraping and Cleaning: After the overlay has cured, we meticulously scrape and clean the surface to remove any excess material and ensure a smooth and even finish.

  6. Sealing: Finally, we seal the repaired concrete surface to protect it from future damage and enhance its appearance.

Ensuring Longevity

Unlike concrete overlays that are simply sprayed onto the surface, our repair process involves thorough blasting and meticulous application techniques. The result is a beautiful, clean finish that is meant to last for years to come. Our customer's satisfaction is our top priority, and we're proud to say that they are 100% satisfied with the results of this project.
